Playing Outside

Nothing too exciting to report... We've just been enjoying the beautiful weather by playing outside as much as possible!  After a week of rain and yucky weather, the sunshine and warm temps are much appreciated!

Chloe's First Soccer Goal

This is Chloe's 2nd season of soccer.  Last season, she spent most of her games just getting a little running in.  Occasionally, she would run after the ball but that was far and few between.  Sometimes she would just leave the field to come ask me if I saw her running.  I would say, "Yep, honey.  I see you running, but you have to stay on the field."  It was a warm up season.

This season is much different for Chloe.  She is aware that the ball is important.  She is starting to understand that putting that ball in the net is the ultimate goal.  And, that is exactly what she did in her first game!  She was so excited!!  As soon as that ball hit the net, she turned around with the biggest smile on her face and jumped up and down.  It was adorable!  (I sort of missed the Kodak moment since I was so overwhelmed with happiness and was also a little busy cheering, but I have all the frames up to that moment and a few after.)

Such a great job, Chloe!!  We are so proud of you!!

That may or may not be an elbow thrown by Chloe....

Driveway Art

Yesterday we had fairly nice weather.  The kids are getting so excited for the nice weather to get here and stay!  Actually, I think we all are excited for that!

Well, the new sidewalk chalk I bought yesterday was just begging to be used.  And, so they did.

So excited about the new sidewalk chalk!

Okay, I'm just now looking at the drawings and I'm fairly certain that Cody is drawing guns and a shootout...  Nice.

Love them!

The Way Chloe Sees It

Another fun conversation with Chloe...

We had just pulled up to the school.  Chloe was going to preschool for the afternoon.  One of the little boys in her class was walking by and his changed appearance caught her attention.

Chloe:  "Mom, Billy got a haircut."

Me:  "Yes, Chloe.  He certainly did."

Chloe:  "He looks pretty, mom."

Me:  "Boys don't look pretty, Chloe.  Girls look pretty.  What do boys look?"

Chloe:  "Oh, yeah.  Boys want to look Awesome."

Me:  "Exactly!"

Archery Tournament

Cody attended his 1st Archery Tournament on Saturday.  Chad, Samantha, Chloe, and I were able to attend and watch him compete.  We think he did a great job!  He improved his score by over 70 points from his last "mock" competition.

Target lined up in the gym.

Getting ready to shoot.

Shooting from the 10 meter line.

Recording his points.

Shooting from the 15 meter line.

Bringing the arrows back to the line.

Way to go, Cody!!  We are so proud of you!!

Snow!

Our first big (aka...pretty pathetic) snow storm of the season was a welcomed sight for the kiddos!  It really didn't give us a lot of snow, but it was enough to roll around in for an afternoon.

Making Snow Angels

Rolling snow for the Snowman

And....they are breaking up my bushes for Snowman arms.

Making a fort.

Chloe is going to get Samantha.

Change of plans...She's going after Cody.

You try to hide from me?  How about I just shove the snow in your face from underneath?!?!

Revenge is sweet!

Cody can't stop laughing!

Samantha thinks she has a plan...back up to the target and then strike!

Uh.... That didn't play out like she had planned!

Catching Up

It's certainly been awhile since I've given an update about our crazy days.  We've spent the last month or so getting sick, getting well, going to school, trying to keep up with college classes, getting sick again, getting well again, running the children around to their activities, and just plain trying to keep our heads above water.

No doubt that it's been a long and interesting month, but we've made it out the other side in one piece.  There were definitely many times during the last few weeks that I've had to constantly remind myself, "This too shall pass".  And, it did.  Thankfully!!

Keep a look out for my many posts to follow.  I have pictures coming out of my ears.  Just have to get them uploaded.  I'm hoping that it doesn't take me another month to do that....
