Another fun conversation with Chloe...
We had just pulled up to the school. Chloe was going to preschool for the afternoon. One of the little boys in her class was walking by and his changed appearance caught her attention.
Chloe: "Mom, Billy got a haircut."
Me: "Yes, Chloe. He certainly did."
Chloe: "He looks pretty, mom."
Me: "Boys don't look pretty, Chloe. Girls look pretty. What do boys look?"
Chloe: "Oh, yeah. Boys want to look Awesome."
Me: "Exactly!"

Random
Samantha's in the shower. Chloe is waiting patiently outside the door.
All I hear is yelling...
Chloe yells, "Samantha, what should I draw?"
Samantha yells back, "Draw a dog."
Chloe yells, "Okay. I'm done with that. What do I draw now?"
Samantha yells back again, "Draw a house."
This continues for Samantha's entire shower.
I say nothing.
I just take pictures.
For once, the yelling between the girls isn't fighting.
I've learned to appreciate the strangest things...

Nursery Rhyme Revised
Miss Chloe loves to sing. She'll sing in the car, in the stores, walking down the street, in a restaurant, and basically anywhere else she gets the urge. This is one of the reasons she has been loving school so much. They have been learning lots of songs. She sings them for us all of the time.
The other evening we were having dinner together at home. (A very rare occasion, but that's a whole other story.) About half way through dinner, Chloe breaks out a song for us. Row, Row, Row your boat. However, this was not your ordinary version of the song. Chloe added her special touches and revised it just a bit. After much applause and laughter from all of us, I'm certain that we will never hear this song the same again.
Chloe's version of Row, Row, Row your boat:
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the street.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is by the tree.
Well done!!

Piece of Me
Another day. Another Chloe story.
Chloe and I were just finishing up our Walmart shopping trip. Walking to the registers we were just having a nice conversation.
She pauses and out of no where she says, "Mom, I love Bon Jovi."
A female Walmart employee is walking beside us and cracks up laughing. She looks at Chloe and says, "I love Bon Jovi too."
She then asks Chloe, "Do you love Journey too?" Chloe quickly says, "NO!"
The lady is shocked and says, "What? Journey is the best."
It was then that I saw it. The ornery face. Before I could stop her, she gives the lady a dirty look as says, "Do you want a piece of me?"

Key to the City
Our Chloe...She is so fun! She makes us laugh so much and often has us shaking our heads.
Recently, we were talking about her birthday coming up. She is so excited to turn 4! She knows that when she is 4 she will be going to Preschool. She can't wait!
During the birthday conversation, someone asked her what she wanted for her birthday. She stopped and began to ponder.
"I want, I want...... ***long silence****
She's thinking. Tapping her chin with her finger.
Suddenly. She has it. Her eyes light up and a big grin comes across her face.
"I want the key to the city."
We have no idea where she came to even know of such a thing. She even had Cody and Samantha asking, "What is the key to the city?"
I feel like any gift I get her will pale in comparison to this dream gift. :-)
Can you see it? Here, Chloe. Here's your...your...coloring book. HA!HA!

Prayers
Prayers from the girls last night went like this...
Samantha: Dear Heavenly Father, please keep daddy safe on his trip. Please keep us safe while he is gone. Also, please let daddy have a good time and I'm so excited to see him. When we pick him up from the airport, I am going to be so happy. I'll be so excited to see him, I just might cry. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Chloe: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for giving daddy work. Daddy, be safe. Miss daddy. And, thank you for giving us underpants. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

I don't know where she gets this...
More conversations with Chloe:
Me: I love you, Chloe.
Chloe: I love you a little, mom. *she giggles*
Me: I love you a lot, Chloe.
Chloe: I'd love if you go away. *giggles harder*
This morning Chloe wanted to talk about Preschool. She'll be going in the fall. She says, "Mom, what will I do in school?"
I tell her, "Chloe, you will probably get to sing songs."
She says, "Yeah!! I love to sing songs. I will sing Shot to the Heart." (Chloe's name for Bon Jovi's, You Give Love a Bad Name)
I'm fairly certain that will not be in the list of songs...

I think I lost this one...
Chloe: Mom, why Logan call you Tammi?
Me: Because I am not Logan's mom.
Chloe: But, I want to call you Tammi.
Me: No, Chloe. You call me mom.
Chloe: I don't think so. Tammi, can you please get some milk?
Me: No, Chloe. My name is mom.
Chloe: Fine, Tammi. I get it myself.

I'm not a Vegetable
I'm not sure about all kids, but mine have taken it upon themselves to sneak food to our dog. Cody and Samantha started when they were little. A great game in their mind. They would hang food off the edge of their highchairs and watch the dog jump around, wag his tail and maybe even do a few tricks. Entertainment!!
Chloe has picked up where they left off. She now thinks its a great time to watch Bubbles go crazy for a piece of her food. She teases him. Since he is much older now, he can't jump as high(or at all for that matter) and put on as good of a show. But, that doesn't stop her.
Yesterday, she had some vegetables on her plate. Like every meal time, Bubbles was at her feet. Waiting. Patiently. She took a small vegetable and showed it to him. His tail started to wag and she pulled her arm back like she was going to throw it at him. In unison, Chad and I both said, "Chloe, NO!" So, she pulled her arm back down and put the food on her plate.
Bubbles didn't care. All he knew was that he wanted that food. And so he barked at her. It startled her a bit. Bubbles doesn't normally bark, but this is food we are talking about. Chloe sat still. No food from her. And so he barked again.
This made Chloe a little nervous. She stood up on her chair as if to try to get away from him. He stepped a little closer to her and she yelled, "No, Bubbles!"
The tears began to build in her eyes and the fear was finally revealed to us....she thought perhaps Bubbles would nibble on her a bit since he couldn't have her food....
She cries out to him,
"Bubbles, I'm not a begtable!"

On a Scale of 1 to 4
So, sometimes I like to tease my kids. One of the ways I like to mess with them is when they ask for something, I will ask them, "Well.....How much do you love me?"
Cody and Samantha know the drill and through all of their irritation they will mumble something along the lines of "Lots, mom." or "This much"(with their arms stretched out as far as they can go)
Today, Miss Chloe asked for me to get one of her toys down from the top of her closet. I thought it was time to introduce Chloe to my crazy ways, so I simply asked her, "How much do you love me?"
Without hesitation she responded, "Four".
I'm sure this was on a scale of One to Four...so she got her toy.

Lullaby
During bedtime earlier this week, Chloe decided she would help get "her Cody" in bed before she headed to bed herself. She says, "Come on, Cody. You need to get in bed."
He rarely argues with her. I think he's learned that it's not worth the effort. (a good lesson I think he'll use most of his life when it comes to girls)
He climbs into bed and she is close behind and begins to cover him up.
She says, "Cody, I'll sing you a lullaby." And so, she begins.
Lullaby and goodnight.
Shut your eyes and sleep tight.
Curly Shirley, Quack Quack Duck.
Under blankalets(blankets) I will tuck.
Goodnight.
He played along and closed his eyes. She tiptoed out of the room, turned off his light and closed his door.
Then, she headed to bed. Her work was done.

Dad Who?
The other evening I was on the phone with Chad. Like many evenings, he was working late. After hanging up the phone I had a small child approach me and say, "Who's that?"
Miss Chloe thinks she needs to know all that is going on. (It's inherited...)
I say, "That was your dad."
"Who?", she replies
"Your dad" again was my response.
"Who?" she asks with confusion.
"Your DAD!" a little more clear from me.
At this time she stops....
She thinking....
Pondering....
Hand on hip & tapping her toe...
I see the wheels turning.
Finally, she says "Ohhhhh. I remember him."
I know he's been working more hours lately, but really?!! :) It made me laugh and it's fits her personality!

Big Plans
With the election last night, we had been watching news coverage most of the evening about it. This is a conversation I overheard Cody and Samantha having in regards to the election...
Cody - "Samantha, did you know that there has never been a girl president?"
Samantha - "Really, Cody?"
Cody - "Yep. Hey, Samantha. What do you want to be when you grow up?"
Samantha - "Well, I don't really know yet."
Cody - "I know. How about you be the president? That way, you will be the first girl president."
Samantha - "Yeah. That might work. Yep. That's what I'll do."
Cody - "This is going to be so great!"
So, you heard it here first. :) Miss Samantha is going to be the first girl president.
I just love them to pieces and I love that they dream big!

Conversations
A conversation between Chloe and me...
Chloe - "Where are we going, Mom?"
Me - "Crazy!"
Chloe - "Can I go to Crazy with you?"
Me - "Sure, Chloe."
Chloe - "You're the best, Mom!!"
What Chloe doesn't know is that She normally takes Me to "Crazy", not the other way around. :)
