I almost don't want to post this. I may jinx it...
Chloe has been going potty on the potty chair. All by herself. Alone. Without me having to ask. No begging or pleading with her. No bribing. Could it be? Is she really on the road to being potty trained?
Now, if you know our little Miss Chloe...you would know that she is about as head-strong as they come. Defiant, bull-headed, and down right rebellious. Don't get me wrong, we love this little ball of naughtiness and all the drama that surrounds her. But, we have learned that if we want her to do something, all you have to do is tell her NOT to.
Chloe, don't you dare pick up your toys = Chloe will pick those toys up so quick.
Chloe, don't you eat those carrots = Chloe will eat the carrots & probably ask for more.
You get the picture.
We tried encouraging the potty training months ago, but she would have no part in it. We would make a party out of it and bribe with M & M's. Nothing worked. So, we decided to just drop it for awhile. Revisit in a few months and see how that goes. Well, to my pleasant surprise, she has taken the first step all by herself. It started on Monday. She has continued to go potty on the potty chair a few times each day. Until today...
She went potty and poopy!! We had a family party in the bathroom! It was great. She was so excited!
Now, I hope this success continues. What in the world will it be like to have no children in diapers anymore? I think we'll figure out a way to manage. :)
